Search for Layers by Name

Search for Layers by Name
You can use wild-card characters to search for and filter layers by name.
1. In the Layer Properties Manager, click inside the Search for Layer text box
(under the tree view).
The cursor is displayed in the text box along with a trailing asterisk (*).
2. In the text box, before the trailing asterisk, enter NOTE. (Make sure the text
reads NOTE*.)
By using the wild-card character * after NOTE, you search for all layers whose names
begin with NOTE.
The list view changes to display only those layers whose names begin with NOTE. The
number of layers displayed (2) and the total number of layers (26) are shown in the Layers
status line.
3. In the list view, right-click NOTE-EMPLOYEE, and then on the shortcut menu,
click Select All.
All layers in the list view (NOTE-EMPLOYEE and NOTE-ROOM) are selected. You can
lock these layers with a single click.
4. In the list view, click the Lock icon next to either of the layers.
Both layers are now locked.
5. Click Apply to apply the layer changes to the drawing without closing the Layer
Properties Manager.
Do not close the Layer Properties Manager.
